From Design to Product
Before we can enroll our first cohort of foster youth apprentices in product design and advanced manufacturing, we need to learn ourselves. Our former foster youth staff are hands-on learning to create product designs using AI and various software to design 3D to 2D to vector patterns. Learning how to create intricate, unique fabric colors using sublimation. And managing high-tech equipment, such as our fully automated embroidery machines, using software tools. All so they can be our peer trainers for when our first youth trainees start in the fall.
We had thought we would spend the summer learning, but the LA World Cup came calling, and we jumped in! We could not miss the opportunity to showcase foster youth on the world stage.
